He will be speaking on Islam on Friday evening and also preaching in the Sunday morning service.
David W. Paul David W. Paul is married with seven children, who have all been home-schooled. He was ordained as an elder in the Presbyterian Church in England in the early nineties. He has a great interest in the study of history and the effect of humanism in modern culture, including it’s effect on the Church, and is currently involved in organising and running Bible teaching and discussion groups, speaking on the application of a Christian world-view. He is self-employed and runs a family construction business.
Joseph D. Paul Joseph D. Paul lives in St Albans with his wife Joanna and runs his own landscaping and building business. He was educated at home by his parents until joining his father’s construction business for six years. He attends the St Albans Vineyard Church and co-runs various Bible study courses. He has a keen interest in history, theology, law, politics and thought in the Western and ancient worlds. His interests include music festivals, natural history and collecting coins and books. Stephen C. Perks Stephen C. Perks is the Director of the Kuyper Foundation and Editor of Christianity & Society. He will be speaking on The New World Disorder on the Saturday evening.
The aim of the Kuyper Foundation Fellowship Weekend is to provide a venue for fellowship and stimulating discussion and thought in a relaxing and leisurely environment. The emphasis will be on discussion and questions after an initial presentation of the subject matter and on informal fellowship. We shall also hold a worship service on the Sunday morning.
Brunel Manor is situated in magnificent wooded grounds near the south Devon coast overlooking the sea with far-reaching views down to Torquay. There is a beach a short but fairly steep walk away. The seaside towns of Torquay and Teignmouth are near. In the manor there is a games room, swimming pool, tennis court, play area, and plenty of grounds and gardens. It provides the perfect venue for the Kuyper Foundation’s Fellowship Weekend.
SPECIAL EVENTS THIS YEAR!
Saturday Evening Soirée The Saturday evening soirée at the last Fellowship Weekend was a great success. We shall be having another soirée in July 2008, from 9.00. to 12.00 p.m. This will be a bring and share wine, cheese and “nibbles” party. Please bring some wine and/or other drinks, some cheese, biscuits and nibbles to put on a common table to be shared with what others bring. There will be some live music in the background (a string quartet or similar group) and plenty of opportunity for fellowship and conversation.
Sunday Worship Music If you or your children play musical instruments and would like to join an ensemble in the Sunday morning service please let us know what instrument you play. We shall be arranging the musical accompaniment for the hymns for the ensemble that we have. We will need to know in advance, therefore, what instruments there will be in order to arrange the music appropriately. There will be a rehearsal on the Saturday afternoon for those who want to practice (optional). Please bring a music stand. Music parts will also be sent out prior to the weekend for practice purposes.
